As we head towards Christmas, I always find this is a natural pause point. A moment to look back before the calendar – and the inbox – resets again. Gratitude feels like a powerful principle at this time of year, so I’ve been asking myself a simple question: what am I genuinely grateful for in 2025?

I’m incredibly proud of my eldest, Ffion, who smashed her A-levels and delivered some amazing singing performances along the way. My youngest, Bronwyn, also smashed her GCSEs and somehow went from starting track cycling this year to earning a place on the Welsh junior sprint team.

As a family, we ticked off a proper bucket-list adventure to Belize and Guatemala, but above all else, we’re healthy, happy, and able to spend Christmas together with our extended family. That’s everything.

Business of Endurance Podcast

While the podcast takes a short pause, it feels like a good time to revisit the thinking behind it all. If you haven’t yet, you might enjoy reading The Business of Endurance.

It explores the lessons elite sport quietly teaches us about resilience, patience, recovery, and long-term thinking – the stuff that really matters when motivation dips or progress feels slow. And if you’ve already read it and enjoyed it, I’d massively appreciate an Amazon review. If you didn’t… let’s call it festive goodwill and say nothing more.

What I’ve Been Reading

Way Of The Peaceful Warrior is one of those books that tends to find people at exactly the right moment. On the surface it’s a story, but underneath it’s really about presence, discipline, ego, and learning to enjoy the process rather than constantly chasing the outcome. In busy, achievement-driven lives, it’s a timely reminder that success without awareness is a pretty hollow win.

TED Talk I’ve Found Interesting

If you’ve ever felt restless, curious, or pulled in more than one direction, this talk lands beautifully. Wapnick introduces the idea of multipotentiality – the freedom to thrive across multiple passions rather than forcing yourself into a single identity. Particularly powerful if you’ve ever worried you’re “too distracted” or “not focused enough”. Watch it here.

What I’ve Been Watching

With Christmas approaching, our house has entered full festive film mode. And while Die Hard debates rage on, it’s hard to beat Home Alone for pure nostalgia, simplicity, and comfort. Sometimes switching off is exactly what you need to recharge properly. What’s your go-to Christmas film?

Tech I’ve Found Useful

This is a smart little AI-powered copy tool that helps turn rough thoughts into clear, compelling messaging. Used well, tools like this don’t replace your voice – they just remove friction. Less time staring at blank pages, more time refining ideas that actually move the needle. Check it out here.

The Trusted Team
As we reflect on the year just gone, a few themes keep cropping up: endurance over intensity, doing less but better, and reconnecting with why we started in the first place. That’s exactly what The Professional Practice Transformation is designed to address.

It’s a practical bundle built around three core ideas: partnerships that remove the constant sales pressure, delegation that gives you your time back, and innovation that reignites energy rather than draining it. It’s not about working harder or chasing the next tactic – it’s about building a practice that actually supports the life you want to live.

Right now, it’s available for £39.70 instead of £397, and includes the sessions, tools, worksheets, a copy of Entrepreneurial Happiness, and a personal discovery call. If the end of the year has left you tired rather than fulfilled, this could be a very good place to reset.

As the year winds down, I hope you can carve out a little space to reflect, recharge, and appreciate how far you’ve come – not just what you’ve achieved, but who you’ve become along the way. Friday Footnotes will be back in 2026! But for now, wishing you a calm, grateful, and restorative Christmas.

If you buy in the next 15 minutes, you can get it for £39.70!
